WHITE SHARK EMBASSY Relocates to BIRKENHEAD LODGE in 2010

In 2009 the White Shark Embassy celebrated the opening of their new offices for Sharklady Adventures, and  a Display Centre for ‘Save Our Seas’ (SOSSC) in Kleinbaai, Gansbaai, South Africa, and subsequently moved in February 2010 to the Birkenhead Lodge.

The opening was attended by over 200 guests, some of which included dignitaries such as  Horst Kleinschmidt, Ex minister of Marine Coastal Management, Lesley Rochat, Founder of Afrioceans Conservation Alliance (AOCA), Clinton Lerm, Chairman of the Destination Marketing Organisation for the Cape Whale Coast, Vanessa Strauss, CEO of SANCCOB, and Shark Lady Kim Maclean.

The ‘Save Our Seas’ Head Office is based in Kalk Bay, Cape Town, and through their partnership with the White Shark Embassy, opened an extension to their operation in what is considered the White Shark capital of the world Shark Alley in Kleinbaai.

With the help of the White Shark Embassies owner Shark Lady Kim Maclean, it has brought her life long dream to fruition to ensure  this new centre continues to foster a love and appreciation for the Sharks through marketing campaigns, books, Videos, and various educational literature in the Conservation, Education and Awareness of Sharks.

The following reading draws a comparison to "SHARKLADY" Kim Maclean's life:

JONATHAN LIVINGSTON SEAGULL
a story

"THIS IS A STORY FOR PEOPLE WHO FOLLOW THEIR DREAMS AND MAKE THEIR OWN RULES;
A STORY THAT HAS INSPIRED PEOPLE FOR DECADES"

FOR MOST SEAGULLS, LIFE CONSISTS SIMPLY OF EATING AND SURVIVING. FLYING IS JUST A MEANS OF FINDING FOOD. HOWEVER, JONATHAN LIVINGSTON SEAGULL IS NO ORDINARY BIRD. FOR HIM, FLYING IS LIFE ITSELF. AGAINST THE CONVENTIONS OF SEAGULL SOCIETY, HE SEEKS TO FIND A HIGHER PURPOSE AND BECOME THE BEST AT DOING WHAT HE LOVES.

THIS IS A FABLE ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF MAKING THE MOST OF OUR LIVES, EVEN IF OUR GOALS
RUN CONTRARY TO THE NORMS OF OUR FLOCK, TRIBE OR NEIGHBOURHOOD.
THROUGH THE METAPHOR OF FLIGHT, JONATHAN'S STORY SHOWS US THAT,
IF WE FOLLOW OUR DREAMS, WE TOO CAN SOAR.

"HE GIVES ME FLIGHT
HE MAKES ME YOUNG
FOR BOTH I AM DEEPLY GRATEFUL."

LESLEY ROCHAT FAMOUSLY KNOWN AS THE SHARK WARRIOR, SHARK AND MARINE CONSERVATIONIST, FILM MAKER, PHOTOGRAPHER, WRITER AND FRIEND OF THE SHARKLADY.

THESE ARE FOND MEMORIES OF LESLEY AND KIM'S CELEBRATIONS AFTER THE OPENING.
